Sept. 30
I just spend some time making some final few tweaks to my slides to prepare for our group meeting Oct. 1. No new sources or video, but refinements to what has already been organized and edited.
Sept. 27
Today I refined and edited the information on my slides, and found further information with a lot of appropriate statistics and percentages that well describe the public's view of the Islam faith in relation to recent events and how the media has portayed them- the main source I based it on was a 1000-person survey conducted by an American-Islam society dedicated to improving the image of the faith. I also found a couple of videos that well describe the American citizen perception of Islam, and how various people really are in their opinions of it- radical especially on a negative side.
Sept. 23-24
I spent some time both days today taking the most important and applicable information from the sources I found concerning the Muslim events. It's a rough draft, but I do have information to put onto slides as we began to organize our group PowerPoint tomorrow (Sat. the 25th).

Sept.20
Today, I researched on the news events of the Koran burning threat from Terry Jones and others, and the opinions and news surrounding the mosque by Ground Zero. I feel like I got some good articles and print-outs for our group meeting tomorrow as well.

almost there!
Googled Images of muslims, using only keywords like muslim, media, and islam. It was interesting that even the majority of images brought up were portraying muslims in a negative light. I put together a powerpoint of these images to be played at the same time as the comments made by the Utah State Students. Super new to putting together projects like this but... I think its really coming together:) HOpe you guys like it ill show it at the next meeting.

Next Group Meeting: Gettin' Things Done
Today, we refined and edited our slides, and completed the ones that we hadn't quite finished on our own time. We added style, format, pictures, and videos to the slides. We showed different text and videos to each other for their approval.
We determined that we will have a brief introduction and presentation, given by Tara, to provide greater organization and formality to the project.

Next Meeting: Movin' Things Forward
Saturday, Sept. 25
Today we combined the rough-draft slides that we created on our own into one PowerPoint presentation. We organized the pattern of the slides and compared information as to not overlap onto each other's presentation too much. We edited each other's slides a bit as well and assisted each other with research of our respective subject- media portrayal, the media's impact on the public, and the facts found within the individual coverage of Fox News, the Colbert Report, and the Daily Show.

Research Research Research
Well the title about sums it up. Just searching the web using different search sites mostly trying to find articles that deal specifically with the media and its relationship to the public.... how the medias portrayal of muslims shape the way the general public percieves them.
